Welcome to the Professional Issues and Ethics Research (P.I.E.R.) website. Dr. Patricia Rupert, a clinical psychologist and associate professor at Loyola University Chicago, is the founder and director of P.I.E.R. The lab’s mission is to examine professional and personal issues that confront professional psychologists. Toward this end, primary research interests include work-family balance, professional burnout, research ethics, and specific ethical issues related to managed mental health care, confidentiality, professional relationships, and graduate education.
